About 300 academics, students and cooperators from 13 countries, studying in universities of Mysore, Pune, New Delhi, Mangalore, Heydar Abad, Kerala and Bangalore, attended the event as cooperative lovers.
After welcoming remarks by Secretary of the seminar, Mr. Shahrivar, the message of Iranian Cooperative Minister was delivered by Cooperative Deputy Minister for Planning and Economic Affairs, Mr. Gharibreza. Parts of the message read that economic justice is a fundamental principle in the economic system of Islam , consisting of justice in wealth distribution, and fair division of resources for all social classes; therefore, economic justice is possible if the ground is laid for development of “cooperatives” and public participation in various social and economic activities. In his message, Cooperative Minister added. “To materialize entrusted missions and duties required measures have been envisaged for reengineering of executive plans and methods.”
Next speakers were Professor Vishvanata, Dean of Faculty of Economics & Cooperative, Ministry of Mysore and Ms. Indira, Head of University International Center. 54 articles from Iran and India were selected and delivered in the form of speech and poster.
During morning session, 6 papers were presented by Professor Paranjuti, Deputy of National Cooperative Education Center of India from New Delhi, Dr. Gikavd, Head of Auditing Department and faculty member of Department of Commerce from Pune University, Dr. Heydari, Director General of Research Dep. Iran Ministry of Cooperatives, Dr. Komar and Dr. Jaya Prakash and Mr. Ranjbar from University of Mysore.
The afternoon gathering was dedicated to some speeches by Dr. Nagrajoo from Mysore University, Ms. Chavooshizadeh from University of Pune, Dr. Ramananda from Cooperative Management Institute of Bangalore, Alireza Roosta from Azad University Firoozkook Branch and Dr. Maahish from Mysore University.
Professor Shivavaaj from Faculty of Management University of Mysore and Professor Dangre Vice-chancellor of Vijingra University delivered remarks of the closing ceremony.
A collection of all articles and papers presented in the seminar has been published in English.
During the two- day seminar, researchers reviewed cooperative role in economic, social and cultural development, and cooperative success stories from Iran and India as well as cooperative development strategies have been shared with the participants.
Moreover, cooperative role and share in other issues related to the youth, women, poverty eradication, globalization, entrepreneurship, socio-economic development, environment and… were among subjects discussed in the seminar.
Participation of officials from Ministry of Cooperatives and their support for the conference, the first in its kind, was seen as being helpful to raise awareness about cooperative sector of the country and encourage exchange of successful experiences of other countries in further development of cooperatives. Also, the event was efficient in making Iranian students in India familiar with cooperative sector and more cooperative research feasible.
