The Statistical and Strategic Data Center of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare developed the 10-Year Time Series of the key indicators of the labour market.
Developing timeline-sensitive clear indicators is critical in producing accurate labour market information, which is of great importance to adoption of rational labour and labour market policies and programs.
In 1999, ILO introduced Key Indicators of the Labour Market aimed at compilation and dissemination of labour market data, as an instrument to control and assess issues pertinent to labour market functionality, and all member States have been recommended to adopt their own KILM.
In the same context, the SSDC of the MoCLSW addressed the issue and developed a National 10-Year period Key Indicators of the Laobur Market based on the ninth edition of ILO KILM, in which 16 indicators and 17 other key indicators of the Iranian labour market have been reviewed. However, the indicator of informal employment is yet to be studied.
To prepare the above repot, the results of survey plans on labour force, urban/rural households income and expenditures, industrial enterprises with 10 workers and more, operating mines and national accounts report of Statistical Center of Iran have been used. Also the indicators are disaggregated by national, urban/rural areas and gender factors.
The same report lists key indicators such as economic participation rate of labour force, employment ratio, job status, employment as per economic sector, employment in major occupational groups, part-time employees, working hours, informal employment, unemployment, youth unemployment, long-term unemployment, underemployment, population out of workforce, illiteracy and education access, wage and compensation rates, labour productivity, poverty,…
