Remarks by Dr. Rabiei at Imam Khomeini Shrine

On the occasion of the first day of Labour Week, the Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare addressed the workers at Imam Khomeini’s shrine.
Dr. Rabiei said, “The current Administration has the closest attachment to workers as compared with its predecessors. So, I am honored to present my heartfelt greetings to the workers who have to put up with the toughest economic conditions and still work at the steel furnaces. I wish to extend my best regards and greetings to the workers who serve their society and to all women who are at the forefront of production and service activities.”
“This is indeed the Labour New Year that we celebrate its first day at the shrine of the founder of our great revolution every year. Imam Khomeini strived to fight against inequality and to bring the country to its true independence,” He added.
The Minister further said, “Last year, we insured 11 million workers and we are pursuing the inclusive pension insurance program to be implemented soon. The turnout and victory of the workers’ community in the parliamentary elections was outstanding and we hope to see more workers to be elected to the Islamic Parliament and different assemblies and councils in the coming years.”
